The Lutheran World Federation - World Service, through its Colombia Program, has responded to the protracted humanitarian crisis in Arauca through several interventions since 2006.

We work with peasant, ethnic and migrant communities affected by armed conflict, natural phenomena and specific vulnerabilities to migration.

One of our projects took place in La Unión in Saravena, where hundreds of Colombian and Venezuelan families received comprehensive support to strengthen their productive projects.

On April 6th, a delegation consisting of Chey Mattner, Head of Operations of the Lutheran World Federation in Geneva; Tyler Braun, Program Manager of Canadian Lutheran World Relief; and Marie Anne Sliwinski, Program Director Disaster Response and Sustainable Development of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the United States (ELCA), visited Arauca to learn about the initiatives that have been developed by these families.
